Evolution Boxers & Mini Bulls

Daren and Tiffanie live between the scenic Wasatch Rocky Mountains and the famous Great Salt Lake, in Utah (20 minutes north of Salt Lake City), in the  rural town of West Bountiful City. They enjoy living on their small, one-acre hobby farm. It consists of an old red barn, one retired roping horse named Opi, a Nigerian Dwarf Goat named Stella, and a flock of hens. Daren acquired various laying hens and loves to collect their eggs (he pretends he's is a farmer). Tiffanie is a hair colorist and designer and owns her own salon, which was built as an extension to the home. She loves being home with the dogs and spending quality time with them. All of the Evolution dogs live in the home, are crate trained, and socialize together as one pack from the time they are born. They attend puppy classes, complete their sets of immunizations, and are introduced early to many different people and environments. Evolution Kennel utilizes an early stimultion program, (one used by law enforcement and the military), with tiny week-old puppies. This program has been shown to help dogs better cope with stress and new situations later on in life.

The Gisseman’s have loved and owned the Boxer breed since 1998--and the Miniature Bull Terrier Breed since 2002. Their interest in the Boxer Fancy began with their first "Show-Boxer", a beautiful fawn colored Boxer named Roamie . They've been hooked on the breed ever since! They were introduced to the Salt Lake County Boxer Club by the president at the time, Dan Bussard, with Denbar Boxers.  Tiffanie welcomed with open arms the whole wide world of showing and breeding right from the start, and has loved it ever since. Evolution's mission is to improve the breed and produce puppies with outstanding confirmation, (as per the AKC standard), with sound structure, excellent temperament, sound genetic health and the type of movement that displays a dignified, self-assured character. Evolution Kennel is committed to finding only the best "new puppy parents" from around the country, through utilizing questionaires (Bullie and Boxer), phone interviews, references, and home inspections.

Daren has a good deal of experience with pets, having worked in Salt Lake City for David Denkers DVM as a vet tech for several years. He has extended his knowledge and love for animals at Utah State University in their Pre-Veterinary program. Although Daren did not pursue this course for a career, his passion for animals continues today. (He did graduate with a degree in History and Literature and became a stock broker and mortgage broker). He still kept involved with animals though, through his part time business as the owner of a licensed, bonded and insured pet sitting business, The Vacationer's Home & Pet Watch (member PSI). This small family business offers in-home pet- care.

As the Gisseman’s grew in the Boxer community, gathering some fun Boxer friends, attending Boxer club meetings and showing Boxers in AKC confirmation events, Daren discovered  Mini Bull Terriers. In 2003, after researching, reading about and finally trying to track one down, he realized how difficult and challenging it was to acquire one. When Tiffanie found their first available MBT pup, (Ripley), they drove all the way to Kentucky from Salt Lake City to bring her home. She currently has 5 AKC points towards her Champion title, a Canine Good Citizen title, and three AKC Champions from her first litter! (Tootie, Vegas, and Carlos). Also, as of 3/08, her second litter has two pups currently showing, one with a BIS International Puppy title, (Pegeen), and another with an AOM and a new AKC Championship! (Howie).

Evolution Kennel has produced (as of 1/2008) five “home-bred” AKC Champions, two of which were invited to the 2006 International Eukanuba Dog Show in Long Beach California,, as they were ranked #9 and #11 nationally for that year!

Tiffanie and Daren are long time members in good standing with the  Salt Lake Boxer Club and the MBTCA.

The focus of Evolution Kennel is to improve Structure (confirmed at AKC shows)/ Temperament (early puppy classes and Canine Good Citizen certification)/ and genetic Health (consistant yearly testing, posting  results, and publishing testing results from puppy owners) . The greatest acheivment for the Kennel each year is finding the highest quality new puppy owners! This also facilitates feedback information and tracking for the health, temperment, and structure of all progeny. New owners fill out Boxer Puppy Questionaires or MBT Puppy Questionairs, send pictures, provide references from vets, complete phone interviews, personally meet with Daren and TIffanie, and even allow for home checks!

Tiffanie's and Daren's thoughts are always with their first Boxer, Roamie, who passed away too soon.. With loving memories of Roamie, this site is in her remembrance.
